Myself and my daughter stayed in Islands apartment from 31/8 to 7/9 2018, with my husband joining us for a few days and I wanted to let you know how much we’d enjoyed our holiday. I had been unable to find any recent reviews for this rental and had some concerns, but after a telephone conversation with Julia (?) at HHH where she was so friendly and helpful, I booked the apartment and I’m so glad I did. The booking process was easy and full arrival information was provided prior to our holiday date.

When we arrived I rang the owner, Gill and she came out to meet us and show us where to park – this was off-road space at the rear of her garden, which we could see from the second bedroom of our apartment, so no battling for a space on the road at any time. Gill was so friendly and helpful and, as she was leaving on the Monday to go on her own holiday, she left us a postcard under the door on Sunday night wishing us a happy holiday and providing instructions for leaving the flat and the keys. The flat is at the top of the house and it was a bit of a challenge getting all our luggage from the bottom of the stairs to the top, but generally speaking the stairs weren’t really a problem for us once we’d moved in. The flat is so comfortable and has everything you might need (apart from a bread knife – couldn’t find one of those!) for your holiday. The beds are really comfortable and so is the sofa in the lounge. Great shower in the lovely little bathroom. The towels Gill provided were gorgeous – full and fluffy and smelled amazing for the whole week we were there (I’m going to message her to ask her what fabric conditioner she uses as mine never smell as good!). All the bed linen was clean and comfy and the flat generally was spotless. Lovely little kitchen with ample essentials should you want to cook, iron etc, including a slimline dishwasher. Fabulous view of the beach from the lounge. It’s less than a two minute walk from the flat to the village centre with its shops and pubs and a further couple of minutes to walk down to the beautiful beach with it’s gorgeous soft sand. A perfect location to explore the surrounding areas from as well. We ate out several times during the week; at The Jube, The Red Barn and Bar Electric and every meal was great. I think Bar Electric was our favourite as it had a relaxed, friendly vibe and you have beautiful views across the beach and village from their balcony whilst enjoying your drink. Also used the village chip shop and would recommend.

We had a fabulous holiday and would recommend both Holiday Home Hunter and Islands apartment to anyone wishing to visit Woolacombe. It was a very long drive for us to get there but I fully intend to visit again! September 2018
Just wanted to take time to provide review of my accommodation and booking experience through yourself. I have to say many many thanks to maddy and gill for arranging and providing me accommodation at such short notice for a bank holiday 28th aug. Maddy did everything she could and was as good as her word in giving me updates and giving me confirmation late at night probably long after her working day. Gill the landlady of the property I stayed with my wife and young child was absolutely lovely from the moment we arrived, throughout the stay and as we left. Felt so welcome and at home and my wife loved the place. Would certainly be using services for future. Please pass on my gratitude to both maddy and gill for everything you were both amazing. We've just come back from a wonderful stay at Islands. We booked the apartment through Sarah at holiday home hunter who was extremely helpful in finding the right property to suit our needs for our four night trip away. She was friendly, accommodating and replied to my questions immediately. Gill met us on arrival and was very flexible with our late arrival time, also very helpful and friendly. The apartment is spacious enough for two adults and two children, it is immaculately clean, warm and well stocked. The views of the beach and the rolling countryside from the large living room windows were breathtaking. We were lucky enough to watch a beautiful sunset from the comfort of being indoors! Although only a 10 minute walk away from the beach. We would definitely book again and recommend. October 2016
Very clean and comfortable flat set on main road into Woolacombe. Good value. Ideal location for the beach. Road noise could be an issue in the summer when it is very busy and the windows are open. The owners who live on site were very kind and helpful. Excellent double bed. September 2016
Islands second floor apartment was clean and well presented with great views. A cheese grater and a flat baking tray would have been useful. I would stay again as ideal location for all amenities locally and only short walk to the beach. Janet Robinson. April 2016
I have just returned from a fab holiday in Woolacombe, we stayed at Islands apartment, it had amazing seaviews from nearly every window in the apartment, it was lovely to have my coffee in the morning watching the sunrise and a glass of wine in the evening watching the sunset!! The apartment itself was clean and had everything we needed, I couldn't fault it. Also on the plus side it was only a 5 minute walk to the village and 10 min walk to the beach. I can thoroughly recommend this apartment and shall hopefully be booking again for next year. July 2015
